The Port Washington Public Library has been serving the community since 1892 when it was housed in a local family’s front parlor. Today we are a modern service-oriented institution.

The Library serves the Port Washington School District and is funded primarily by local taxes levied on real estate. There is no charge for school district residents to join. Your library card entitles you to borrow materials from any public library in Nassau County. Materials borrowed elsewhere may be returned here. The Library Newspaper

The Port Washington Public Library monthly newspaper and calendar of events is sent free to every Port Washington address. Subscription fee for non-residents is $12.00 per year. Make check payable to the Port Washington Public Library and send to Jackie Kelly, Port Washington Public Library, One Library Drive, Port Washington, NY 11050.
