Virtual Premiere - Meet Mark Chiusano - Author of "The Fabulist"
In case you missed it the video recording of Meet Mark Chiusano - Author of The Fabulist is now available on the Library's YouTube page.
CLICK HERE to access the video.
Author and former Newsday columnist Mark Chiusano discusses his new book "The Fabulist: The Lying, Hustling, Grifting, Stealing, and Very American Legend of George Santos." Combining the very best of boots-on-the-ground journalism, dishy backroom dealings, and glittery details about Gold Coast mansions that’d feel just as at home in your next summer beach read, The Fabulist is truly stranger than fiction. Mr. Chiusano describes what it has been like to cover George Santos since 2019 as a Newsday columnist. In addition to discussing his new book, Mr. Chiusano also discusses what it is like to be a writer and journalist in 2024. Mr. Chiusano’s story collection Marine Park received a PEN/Hemingway Award honorable mention in 2015. He covered two presidential elections and many local ones as a columnist and editorial writer for Newsday, and his writing has appeared in places like The New York Times, New York Magazine, Politico, The Paris Review, and McSweeney’s. He teaches at CUNY City Tech. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
