Sunday, April 3
1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
FOL University, the Friends of the Library’s lecture program featuring notable scholars and university professors, returns Sunday, April 3 at 1:30 p.m. with Thomas Germano, a Full Professor of Art who teaches painting, drawing and art history at the State University of New York at Farmingdale. Professor Germano will discuss breaking news of enormous interest to art lovers and historians: Lost works by Leonardo da Vinci have been the subject of much research and study. In just the past few months the process of multispectral imaging at the British Library has unveiled works erased, overworked, and not visible to the naked eye in Leonardo’s Codex Arundel. This visual lecture will highlight new attributions and analyzes a number of claims related to the rare work of Leonardo. Refreshments will be served.
