Mackey Collection
– Includes receipts, statements of account, bonds and promissory notes from the estate of James Mackey. Accounts mention dry goods, household items, iron, food and lumber. 1 box; 1821 - 1851.

McQueen Collection
– Two handwritten account books, one kept by a local weaver, John McQueen, and the other by a local shoemaker, George Remsen. With a group of news clippings and loose papers. 1 box; 1806 - 1852.

Mason Photograph Collection
– Approximately 25,000 photographs (glass and safety negatives, with some prints) from the Mason Studio, formerly located on Main Street near Mackey Avenue. Includes portraits of individuals, families and groups, as well as photos of weddings, graduations, communions, parties, local scenes, houses, buildings, land, businesses and restaurants. 1915? - 1985.

Meissner Collection
– Includes letters of agreement, mortgages, indentures and receipts from members of the Meissner, Hegeman, Mackey, Hyde and Thorne families. 1 box; 1852 - 1907.

Monfort Collection
– 110 photographs of local individuals, houses and scenes, copied from Monfort family photographs. 2 boxes; 1875 - 1925.

Nassau County Museum Photograph Collection
– 60 photographs of local street scenes, businesses, buildings and individuals, copied from originals at the Nassau County Museum, Hempstead. 1 binder; 1880? - 1970.

Nautical Collection
– Approximately 500 books, pamphlets and periodicals on boatbuilding, sailing, yachting, and racing. Also includes publications of local and U.S. yacht clubs, cruising guides, maps and charts, trophies and artifacts.

North Hempstead Library Association Collection
– This lending library was begun in 1791 by a group of area landowners, who contributed dues to purchase books, which were kept at the home of Dr. Samuel Mitchell. A small number have survived, along with 2 record books documenting the founding, financing, membership and activities of the library. 1790? - 1830?

Olandt Collection
– Includes photographs (glass negatives and prints) of the Olandt family home and gardens on North Maryland Avenue, as well as photos of family members, friends and neighbors, and local firefighters from the Flower Hill Hose Company. Also includes the local records of the Epworth League, a local Methodist organization, in which Mrs. Olandt was active. 2 boxes; 1910? - 1915?

Peter Spier Collection
– a small box of original drawings donated by the noted children's book illustrator. 1955?

Petersen Collection
– Includes one scrapbook of articles and photos on local aviation history, and one scrapbook on general history, as well as a group of 52 issues of local school publications ("The Port Junior" and "The Port Weekly.") 1912 - 1935.

Plain Talk / Henry K. Landis Collection
– Includes 152 issues of Plain Talk, a periodical published bi-weekly in Port Washington from 1911 - 1914 by Henry K. Landis. It covers a wide variety of topics, including politics and business, civic and social events, club notes and family news. It includes advertisements, correspondence, editorials, poems, satirical pieces and cartoons. Each issue runs 12 - 16 pages. Some duplicates included.

Play Troupe Collection
– The records of a local amateur theater group, active from 1927 until approximately 1990. Includes scrapbooks, clippings, photographs, handwritten notes, scripts, budgets and programs. 5 boxes; 1927 - 1980?

Port Washington Community Services / Village Welfare Collection
– Papers of a local charitable organization which originated in 1909 as the Sisterhood Club, and is currently known as Port Washington Community Services. Includes minutes, scrapbooks, photographs, budgets, and case documentation. 4 boxes; 1909 - 1982.

Port Washington History / Miscellania Collection
– Miscellaneous single items in 16 subject areas, including Aviation, Board of Trade, Boy Scouts, Fire Department, Methodist Episcopal Church, Restaurants, etc. 3 boxes; 1837 - present.

Beatty Collection
- 10 pieces of correspondence to Albert R. Beatty, Port Washington Times-Post editor and Port Washington Chamber of Commerce secretary. This collection consists of letters and 2 telegrams sent to Mr. Beatty ca. 1930-1937, mostly from well-known figures: author and Port Washington resident Robert Gordon Anderson, Sands Point resident and tycoon Harry T. Guggenheim, U.S. President Herbert Hoover, Pulitzer prize winning journalist Westbrook Pegler, and Col. Mario G. Infante of the Italian Navy.

Port Washington Library Collection
– Library archives, including charters, minutes, records, correspondence, budgets, accession books, photographs, publications and artifacts. 15 cubic feet; 1892 - present.

Port Washington Local Newspaper and Clipping Collection
– Approximately 400 clippings (including some photocopies) from the Port Washington News, the Long Island News, and the Brooklyn Eagle. Sample headlines: "A Panic at Port Washington: Frightened Horses at Depot Run Away and Smash Things"; "State Puts Ban on Cow Bay Oysters"; "Immodest Bathing Protested by Rich." 1891 - 1960.

Port Washington Map Collection
– 45 maps, some hand-drawn and some printed, of Port Washington, the North Shore area, and Long Island. 3 boxes; 1755 - present.

Port Washington Photograph Collection
– Some 150 miscellaneous photographs arranged by subject: businesses; churches; fire department; hotels; lighthouses; Main Street; sports teams; waterfront and Town Dock, etc. 1 box; 1890? - 1960?

Port Washington Police Department Collection
– Includes photographs of officers and parades, certificates of merit, annual reports, correspondence, obituaries, newsletters, and a thank-you note from J. Edgar Hoover to Police Chief James Salerno. 2 boxes; 1950 - 1978.

Port Washington Post Office Collection
– 40 photographs documenting the construction of the Post Office at Main Street and Beacon Hill Road in 1935, and its later addition in 1964. With views of Main Street, businesses, automobiles and the Monfort Farm in the background.

Port Washington Postcard Collection
– 75 postcards of Port Washington views, streets and buildings, such as: Baxter Estates and Homestead, Central Hotel, Chicken Point Club, Cove Inn, Custom House, Execution Lighthouse, First Baptist Church, Hempstead House, Hotel Victoria, the Mill Pond, Plandome Mill, Railroad Station, Shore Road, Town Dock, Webster Avenue, etc. 1900? - 1960?

Port Washington Schools / Faiella Collection
– Includes school budgets, registers of attendance, lesson plan books, a handwritten school census, minutes, miscellaneous reports and newsletters, photographs of students, teachers and classroom interiors. 25 cubic feet; 1863 - present.
