Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

This book was about a girl named Katniss, who is despised by President Snow and many other people of the Capital.  When she finds out that she must go into the Hunger Games for a second time, she goes crazy and can’t handle the thought of it.  Luckily, Katniss has her friend Peeta by her side with some more help along the way.  My favorite part was the ending of the book, when Katniss has absolutley no clue what is going on, and if she is dead or alive.  She has no idea who her enemies or allies are anymore.–Gabrielle

Travels with Charley in Search of America by John Steinbeck

This book was as close as john Steinbeck fans will get to an autobiography, as he never published one. This book chronicled Steinbeck’s road trip across America with his French poodle, Charley. This novel includes not only the places he visited and the people he met along the way, but also his thoughts on life, friendship, and the various issues going on at the time in 1960s America.  –Bridget
