A free 4-session series for students in grades 7-12.
Thursdays October 20, 27 & November 3 and 10.
4:30-5:30 p.m.
Registration begins on Monday, October 3 in Teenspace. Those completing all 4 sessions will be eligible to have their names included on the list of available babysitters.
October 20-Basic Child Care. Katherine Crean, R.N. of St. Francis Hospital, discusses general tips and techniques for sitters.
October 27-Minor First Aid. Katherine Crean, R.N., focuses on minor health emergencies, getting help when needed and creating a safe environment for sitters and children.
November 3-Handling Emergency Situations. Representatives of the Port Washington Police and Fire Departments discuss emergencies that could require their help.
November 10-Entertaining Children. Jeanne Hall will demonstrate storytelling, simple crafts and songs. This session will be followed by an opportunity for babysitters to meet parents of young children at a brief reception co-sponsored by the Parent Resource Center. 5:30-6pm.
