SAT Prep Course for Teens

Saturday, March 18 - April 29, 2017

2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Registration is closed for this program.   

A course fee of $100 is payable to the Port Washington Public Library.  This fee covers all six sessions and includes a copy of the class text. Registration fee can be paid in person in TeenSpace.

Session Dates: March 18, 25, April 1, 8, 22 & 29th.  

 

Haiku Instagram Challenge

A haiku is a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables.  The first and last lines have 5 syllables and the middle has 7 syllables.   In honor of National Poetry Month share your original haiku with us on Instagram.  #teenspacepwplhaiku

The Outsiders Turns 50!

2:30 pm - 4:45 pm

Join us as we screen The Outsiders, a film based on the teen classic book by S.E. Hinton. The Outsiders (1983 1:15 minutes.) The rivalry between two gangs, the poor Greasers and the rich Socs, only heats up when one gang members kills a member of the other.  This film is rated PG-13. No registration required. 2:30 p.m.

Math Tutoring

Monday, May 1 - May 22, 2017

4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Teens who need assistance in math, including SAT/ACT prep, are invited to work with Steven and Leona Handelman on Mondays.  No registration needed but students must bring their own textbooks/materials.  Sorry, no calculus.  4 p.m. – 5 p.m. when school is in session.

We will extend our hours until 11 pm for teens to study for AP exams.  Library doors will be locked at 9 p.m. with no admittance after 9 p.m.  Snacks provided.  Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library. 8 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Babysitting Bootcamp

Wednesday, May 24 - May 31, 2017

7:00 pm - 8:30 am

a 2-session workshop for teens in grades 7-12.  Topics include basic child care, minor first aid, and handling emergencies.  Register online, in person or by phone beginning May 1.  Class dates May 24 & 31.
