Teen Read Week

Teen Read Week: (Grades 7-12) The Library, in conjunction with the American Library Association, invites you to celebrate “Teen Read Week” (October 13-19.)  “Seek the Unknown @ Your Library” is the theme of this year’s national initiative to encourage teens to read for the fun of it.  Free bookmarks and reading lists for teens will be available all week in TeenSpace.  Teen Read Week activities co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Teen Read Photo Board: If you’re a teen and you have a favorite book, tell us about it. Here’s how: Pick your favorite book, bring your book to TeenSpace (or we’ll try to find it in the collection) between October 1 – 6.    We’ll take your picture and include the photo of you and your book and why you love it on our photo board, which will be displayed in TeenSpace during Teen Read Week (October 13-19.)   All teens that enter will receive a prize, and qualify for a bigger prize drawing to be held during Teen Read Week.

Teen Fine Fix: Got fines holding you back from using your library card?  Teens (grades 7-12) with library fines are invited to visit TeenSpace during October to have their overdue fines removed from their accounts.  In honor of Teen Read Week, teens can pick up a coupon in TeenSpace or print one from the TeenSpace webpage to apply to their library account.  Limit one coupon per teen patron.  Replacement costs of lost library materials is not eligible under coupon.
