Teen Read Photo Board
October 1 -16
Do you have a favorite book? Let us know! Pick your favorite book, write down the title, author and (in 25 words or less) why you think it’s the best. We’ll take your picture with your favorite book and include it on our photo board, which will be displayed in TeenSpace during TRW.
The Teens’ Top Ten is a “teen choice” list, where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year! Nominators are members of teen book groups in sixteen school and public libraries around the country. Nominations are posted on Celebrate Teen Literature Day, the Thursday of National Library Week, and teens across the country vote on their favorite titles each year.
Readers ages twelve to eighteen will vote online between August 15 and Teen Read Week™ (October 18-24, 2015) atwww.ala.org/yalsa/reads4teens; the winners will be announced the week after Teen Read Week.
In conjunction with Banned Books Week, teens in grades 7-12 are invited to participate in our Banned Books book group on Wednesday, September 30 at 7:30 p.m. We will be discussing, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. Registration begins September 1 online or in TeenSpace. Copies of the book will be available in TeenSpace.
