FOL University Lecture Program

Sunday, November 5

1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

FOL University, the Friends of the Library’s lecture program featuring notable scholars and university professors, returns Sunday, November 5  at 1:30 p.m. with two timely and fascinating topics. Dr. Charles A. Riley II, newly named director of the Nassau County Museum of Art, will lecture on Fitzgerald and the Jazz Age, and will speak on his new book, Words on the Move: Why English Won’t – and Can’t – Sit Still. Daniel Paisner has authored autobiographies and memoirs of some of our best-known actors, athletes, politicians, television personalities and “ordinary” individuals who have managed to conquer extraordinary situations.  He has written over sixty books, on topics ranging from business and sports, to politics and popular culture, including fifteen New York Times bestsellers. Mr. Paisner replaces Dr. John McWhorter, who is unable to participate due to a last-minute personal matter.

Refreshments will be served.
