48th Annual Book & Author Luncheon
Friday, May 12
11:00 am - 2:30 pm
An exquisite soul-searching story about a young woman struggling to redefine herself and a fascinating history of dining out in America as told through ten legendary restaurants will be the featured works at the Friends of the Library’s 48th Annual Richard D. Whittemore Book & Author Luncheon. The luncheon will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 12, at the North Hills Country Club in Manhasset.
The FOL welcomes best-selling novelist Alice Hoffman, who will speak about her latest work Faithful (Simon & Schuster), and food historian and Yale University professor Paul Freedman, who will discuss his acclaimed Ten Restaurants That Changed America (Liveright). Port’s own bestselling novelist Susan Isaacs returns as program moderator.
With the help of individual and corporate sponsorships, which begin at $250, the luncheon becomes a fundraiser for the FOL. Sponsors bypass first-come, first-served ticketing to the sell-out luncheon and sponsorships are tax deductible. For information, please contact FOL Board members Margaret DeSiervo (firstname.lastname@example.org, 516-883-2722) or Nancy Wright (email@example.com, 516-883-8418).
