The 120th Anniversary Celebration features a yearlong series of over twenty special events, exhibitions, performances and lectures, developed by the Library’s programming staff and the volunteer Advisory Councils. This chronological listing will continue to develop, and is subject to change.

Teenspace Hunger Games Party District 12.0
Saturday, March 24 at 2:30 p.m.
You’ve read the books; now celebrate the Hunger Games film release with us. Wii archery, tribute face painting, survival skills, trivia, cornucopia snacks, and chances to win prizes.  Costumes encouraged.  Free registration begins March 1 in Teenspace or online. “May the odds be ever in your favor.”

World Festival – 120th Anniversary Community Party
Cultures represented in Port Washington over the last 120 years present unique traditions with which significant life events and milestones are honored and celebrated. In collaboration with the Landmark on Main Street and the Friends of the Library.

TeenSpace – “Steampunk” Art & Design Projects & Summer Reading Club
July & August – Steampunk is a popular contemporary design esthetic that has its roots in turn-of-the-century styles – a visual connection with the time period of the Library’s founding.

Happy Birthday Port Washington Public Library: Summer Reading Club Kick-off
Friday, July 13 at 7 p.m.
Featuring vaudevillian silent clown Chip Bryant in “Listening With Your Eyes” a hilarious interactive show for children entering grades 1 to 6 with an adult.
