Books for Dessert
The library hosts “Books for Dessert,” a book club for adults over 21 with intellectual disabilities, who live or work in and around Port Washington. Read about Books for Dessert in the Library’s August 2015 Newsletter.
Members meet weekly to enjoy and discuss books – and life. The groups have read books and stories of all kinds in adapted versions – from The Prince and the Pauper to Shirley Jackson’s The Lottery.
The program welcomes new members. If you know anyone who may be interested, please contact Keith Klang at 516-883-4400, ext. 135 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
If you are an organization or individual interested in replicating this program in your community, let us know. The Library has prepared a program guidebook to help you get started.
