VIRTUAL VISITS: Walters Art Museum. Located in Baltimore, Maryland, the Walters Art Museum was founded in 1934 to house the art collection amassed by two local businessmen, William Thompson Walters and his son Henry Walters. They collected nearly 22,000 works of art during their lifetimes. Upon his death in 1931, Henry bequeathed his collection, and the Charles Street palazzo building where his art was housed, to the city of Baltimore. Today, the collection has grown to more than 35,000 objects and presents an overview of world art from ancient Egypt to the 20th century. Join Ines Powell for this armchair visit.
