Art Lecture

3rd THURSDAYS@3: 20th Century English Art: Bacon, Freud and Moore. Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud were two of England’s leading artists of the post war period. Although figure painting was out of vogue, both shunned fashion and created some of the most important figurative paintings in the global art world. Their art would serve to reintroduce the motif of the figure. Henry Moore is best remembered for his semi-abstract monumental public sculpture.
