THE HOLLYWOOD BLACKLIST: Professor Val Franco concludes her series on the Hollywood Blacklist with this rescheduled screening of what was originally the first film in the series, High Noon (1952-84 min.). The story of a sheriff (Gary Cooper) who must defend a town of righteous cowards from gunslingers, Fred Zinnemann’s classic co-stars Grace Kelly, Thomas Mitchell, Lloyd Bridges, Katy Jurado and Lee Van Cleef. Screenwriter Carl Foreman (1914-1984) was blacklisted for his alleged Communist sympathies. Note the early start time: 7 p.m.
