3rd THURSDAYS@3: Repatriating Art: Stolen Beauty. Among works taken from their original sites were the Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer by Gustav Klimt; the Euphronius Vase, recently returned to Italy by the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Elgin marbles removed from the Parthenon on the Acropolis in Athens and since exhibited in the British Museum in London. Professor Thomas Germano will also discuss the looting of archaeological sites in Egypt, Guatemala and Iraq, as well as a host of artworks in private collections taken from Holocaust victims during the second world war. 3 p.m.
