The Walter H. and Leonore Annenberg Collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Paintings was one of the most remarkable gifts ever made to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 1991, Mr. Annenberg bequeathed roughly $1 billion worth of paintings, including works by Manet, Monet, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, Cezanne, van Gogh, Seurat, Gauguin, Bonnard, Matisse, Picasso and Braque.
