VIRTUAL VISITS: The Guggenheim Museum, established in 1939 by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Frank Lloyd Wright designed the cylindrical museum building, which is now one of the most important architectural landmarks of the 20th century. The museum features seasonal special exhibitions, but it also owns a remarkable collection of Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Modern and contemporary art. Among the highlights of the permanent collection are works by Manet, Gauguin, Pissarro, van Gogh, Picasso, Duchamp, de Kooning and Pollock.
