SANDWICHED IN: Impressionism, Fashion, & Modernity. Dedicated to depicting contemporary life, Impressionists paid careful attention to the great changes and new importance of fashion between the 1860s and 1880s. This illustrated talk will offer an introduction to the exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Together with major paintings by Manet, Degas, Monet, Renoir, and Cassatt, the exhibit includes examples of actual clothing, fashion illustrations and photos .
