AFTERNOON AT THE OPERA: Il Trittico. Il Tabarro, Suor Angelica, and Gianni Schicchi form Giacomo Puccini’s “trittico,” a trilogy of one-act operas in very different styles and with very different subject matter, ranging from the verismo story of a barge-owner and his wife, and a deckmate who has had an affair with her. By contrast Gianni Schicchi ends the trilogy with outrageous farcical comedy. Join Professor James Kolb for an exploration of this transcendent work. 3 p.m.
