A JOAN CRAWFORD DOUBLE BILL: The Boob (1926-61 min.). Idealistic farm boy Peter (George K. Arthur) loves Amy (Gertrude Olmstead), who fancies urbane Harry (Tony D’Algy). Learning that Harry is a rum runner, Peter turns him over to revenue agent Jane (Crawford). William A. Wellman directed, from a script by Kenneth B. Clarke, and Arthur Barrow supplied the musical score. Also, Our Modern Maidens (1929-75 min.), in which Billie Brown (Joan) vamps young diplomat Glenn Abbott (Rod La Rocque) to further the career of her fiancé, Gil Jordan (Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.). Jack Conway directed, from Josephine Lovett’s screenplay. Arthur Lange composed the musical score. 1:30 p.m.
