NOVEMBER NOIR: Since the autumn of 2004, the library has been screening classic crime films of the 1940s and ‘50s in a series called November Noir. This month we present more tales of murder, kidnapping, robbery, seduction and guilt, beginning with Black Angel (1946-81 min.). When a beautiful blackmailer is murdered, suspects include her drunken husband (Dan Duryea), her married lover (John Phillips), and a shady nightclub owner (Peter Lorre). Screenwriter Roy Chanslor adapted a Cornell Woolrich novel for director Roy William Neill. 7:30 p.m.
