3rd THURSDAYS @ 3: The Quirinale. During the Baroque era in the 17th century, stables were constructed adjacent to the Quirinale Palace for the exclusive use by the Pope and his guests. The Quirinale first opened its doors for Rome’s jubilee in 2000 and has since exhibited the work of Caravaggio, Botticelli and Sebastiao Salgado. Professor Thomas Germano will discuss the history and highlights, focusing on the current “Vermeer. Il secolo d’oro dell’arte olandese.” 2 p.m.
