AFTERNOON AT THE OPERA: Die Walküre. One of the best-known of Richard Wagner’s operas, Die Walküre represents a pivotal moment in the four-evening work, Der Ring des Nibelungen, a moment in which a son and daughter meet and fall in love, a husband and wife quarrel, and a father and daughter must part forever, because the daughter has actually attempted to do what the father desires but is not permitted to do. Join Professor James Kolb for an audio-visual exploration of this classic. PLEASE NOTE: for today only, this series will take place at 2 pm. MAC
