Samir (Aasif Mandvi) quits his job as a chef at a posh Manhattan restaurant and tries to save his ailing father’s (Harish Patel) failing Indian restaurant in Queens. With the help of cab driver Akbar (Naseeruddin Shah) and fellow chef Carrie (Jess Weixler), Samir rediscovers his heritage and his passion for life through the art of Indian cuisine.
