3RD THURSDAYS @ 3: Rembrandt and Degas. Edgar Degas first saw Rembrandt’s etchings when he was a young artist studying the Old Masters in Rome. Ines Powell’s illustrated lecture will focus on Rembrandt’s influence on the art of Degas. We will study a series of self-portraits of the two artists when they were both starting out in their careers. This presentation will serve as an introduction to an exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. 3 p.m.
