Books for Dessert

The library hosts “Books for Dessert,” a book club for adults over 21 with intellectual disabilities, who live or work in and around Port Washington, and who have little or no reading ability. The book club meets to enjoy and discuss books – and life – weekly from 7 to 8:30pm.

The group is looking for new members. If you know anyone who may be interested, please call Lee Fertitta at 883-4400, Ext. 135.

Why reinvent the wheel? Our book club is in its third year and is a very successful program. The groups have read books and stories of all kinds in adapted versions - from "The Prince and the Pauper" to Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery." If you are an organization or individual interested in replicating this program in your community, let us know. We are preparing a program guidebook which will be available soon.

Please contact Lee Fertitta by phone: 883-4400, Ext. 135, or e-mail: fertitta@pwpl.org for more information.
