Rain Date: Saturday, April 27th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

The PWPL Earth Day committee invites YOU to our fourth outdoor Earth Day celebration at Sunset Park. Back by popular demand, Tony Traguardo, the Library’s resident musicologist and Media Librarian, will lead a band of local musicians in a rocking concert of Beatles hits at the Sousa Bandshell. In addition, representatives from the Town of North Hempstead and other Port Washington environmental organizations will be on site with important information about their latest sustainability initiatives. Stop at their tables to have a conversation. Take home some cool environmental “swag.” Bring your kids to the children’s table to make a fun eco craft. Participate in our community art project. Most of all, enjoy the music and the water view and find out important ways YOU can make a difference making our community a healthy and sustainable one.

Participating Organizations:

  • Backpack Rewrap
  • Baxter’s Pond Foundation
  • North Shore Audubon
  • Plant a Row for the Hungry Port Washington
  • PW Green
  • Science Museum of Long Island
